Hi! I’m Jessica.
Hair has always been my jam. Seriously, it all started back in the day when my mom and aunt would whip up some fierce 'kitchen hair' over a pot of coffee and a whole lotta laughs. Perms, highlights, haircuts—you name it, we did it, all in the comfort of our cozy kitchen during our family gatherings. Mom was a hair wizard, balancing her career with raising a family, and our kitchen was her salon sanctuary on lazy Sunday afternoons.
Fast forward to my high school days. I was all set to tackle junior year, no plans for BOCES (who needs it, right?), until a little light bulb went off in my head. Why not follow in Mom's footsteps? So, I shook things up, changed my schedule, and dove headfirst into cosmetology. It was supposed to be a backup plan, just in case my dreams of a medical career didn't pan out. But hey, if it worked for Mom, it could work for me, right?
After school, you could find me hustling at Mom's salon, juggling phones and assisting like a boss with the help of my trusty crew of friends. Eventually, I snagged a degree in surgical technology and did the whole balancing act, working part-time in the medical field while still slaying it in the salon.
Then, fate stepped in. In 2011, I took the reins and became the proud owner and sole operator of Salon On The Avenue. This place isn't just a salon; it's my second home, where I've met incredible people, forged lifelong friendships, and even found my ride-or-die hubby, Rob.
Now? Two kids, one kickass salon, and the best co-stylist a girl could ask for, Shauna. We've been through it all with our clients—laughter, tears, and everything in between.
So here we are, living the dream, making magic happen one fabulous hairstyle at a time. Welcome to Salon On The Avenue—where hair dreams come true, and sass is always in style!
